Real Emo

Fake vs. Real Emo

The definition of emo style from the teenagers nowadays has sparked a lot of arguments and confusion. Those teenagers who are engaged with this style are called “emos”. Now, two groups have emerged to claim as emos.

Emo Boy

The two groups of stereotyped emos are:

1. Irritating Emos

When punk bands were introduced, like Chemical Romance, some teenagers followed their trend and called themselves, “emo”.

Layered Emo Hair

These are those who cared about how their bangs fall into their faces. They draw thick, black lines to encircle their eyes with eyeliners. They go to the public and claim proudly that they are “emos”. They rebel to their parents, drink, smoke, and do things to piss others, especially those who are in authority. And, they call these emo styles as cool.

Emo Eye

They want to show people that it’s cool to be sad and depressed. So, they usually cut their wrists as an evidence of how much engross they are with their sadness.

This emo style worries parents and those surrounding them. They disturb people by being problematic to society.

Emo Girl

2. Composed Emos

This group of emos never claimed Chemical Romance as an emo style of music. They do not patronize punk with hateful lyrics. Instead, they like to display an emo style of music through the lyrics’ display of the soul’s vulnerability. The distinguished band with emo music is “Rites of Spring”.

Fake Emo

This group does not care what people think of their hair or fashion. As a matter of fact, they do not really like putting gel on their hair, or carefully placing their bangs in a certain way. They do not do things just so people think they are rebellious, but because they believe in their causes. This emo style is not affected if people would label them as emos or not.
